GAYÀ: “Being the captain of Valencia CF still moves me”
The footballer from Pedreguer features in European Football Clubs to speak about how training and environment shape a player’s career progression
Francisco Reis Ferreira, AKA ‘Ferro’, a new addition to the Valencia CF squad on loan until the end of the season from SL Benfica, passed his medical at the IMED hospital on Sunday evening.
The Portuguese spoke to VCF Media afterwards, to give his thoughts on the move to bring him to Mestalla.
"I'm very happy to be here. I love the city and the people I've met so far. I have to see a little more of the city, but I'm very happy," he said, also expressing his pleasure at having joined a prestigious side.
"It was what both the club and I wanted, and that was the most important thing. I wanted to come to the club. What I want is to help the team, and to enjoy my football."

"I like to go forward and shoot, but also to defend when we have to and be aggressive."
Ferreira will be well accompanied, as two of his compatriots feature in the Valencia CF squad: Gonçalo Guedes and Thierry Correia.
"I only know Guedes. With Thierry, I know that he's Portuguese but I don't know him. I know Guedes very well," he explained.
"I haven't spoken to them yet, but tomorrow I want to do that, so that they can help me with the team and the other players. I'm really looking forward to things, and want to start right away."
